Student Tech Advice Needed

Work Advice

I am a student tech working at a clinic for the first time. However, my fellow technicians aren’t very friendly and welcoming. I’ve been here for a few weeks training. However, when it comes to many nursing skills, such as blood draws, vaccines (IM/IV) and IV catheters, the technician are difficult to work with. They don’t offer me these opportunities, instead I have to constantly ask them for it. Additionally, they don’t offer me guidance so instead I either succeed on my own or not at all. Sometimes if I ask they will say flat out “no”, I understand this sometimes, but other times they say I’m not ready. How am I suppose to be ready if I never get the chance? The thing is I’m only here for a few more days, and I need a chance to do these skills because it goes with my schools curriculum. Additionally, their tone is always discouraging so it makes me feel like a burden for even asking.

Any ideas for what I should do?
