AIO - was I inappropriate to my 16 year old friend (I’m 19 years old)

For context we’ve been school buddies for 3 years (same highschool). I feel like I trauma dumped on them. One time we were at the mall and I told them I wasn’t hanging out with them because I was afraid they’d look at me differently for drama that happened in the school. Idk why I feel really bad for talking to them about it. I don’t wanna put that on someone significantly younger than me. (For context I almost had a relationship with someone nutritiously known for not being a good person.. so I wanted to let them know because I didn’t want them to be surprised by the info).

Still. I feel bad. Idk what to do to not feel bad.
