Postponed Wedding

My partner and I decided to postpone our may wedding due to multiple reasons. We had the venue booked and tried contacting them multiple times back in march about our concerns and what we needed to do moving forward considering that is our dream venue. They got back to us 55 days before the planned wedding date. We scheduled a meeting, they forgot about it and we rescheduled. Finally we meet and the owner is pretty stern but was still flexible about rescheduling. He said we could no longer have a May wedding, it has to be on a Sunday in June. We said okay, and he said his wife would email us. She never did, we emailed her a few days later and no response. We then get charged the monthly fee for our now cancelled wedding, we were not planning for this charge and bills were due. We called the place and they did not pick up a single call or answer any of our emails. We disputed the charge and are waiting on that but I decided to call them again and the owner answered. I asked him that I was waiting on a response back regarding June dates and he said sure let me check. I proceeded to explain the situation and I guess he realized it was me and he said he was in a meeting and he would call me back. I doubt that was the case and I highly doubt I will be getting a call back. I don’t know how to fix this situation and if we should even be booking the venue again.
