Why isn’t he here yet!

Had my 39 week appointment yesterday, I’m 3.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced, he is sitting so low.. I’m so ready to not be pregnant and to meet our son but it sounded like she was surprised I wasn’t in labor yet! I was even having a contraction at my appointment and didn’t even know it!

I’ve been hacking Braxton hicks but no pain with any of my contractions, some cramping here and there but not painful enough to think anything of it. I had painless contractions all night and through this morning so far… anyone else experience this? If so, when did you finally go into labor?!
