I think I scared her off by being emotionally available too soon — would love some perspective

I 25m met someone 23f recently through Reddit. We went to a gig last Thursday and vibed really well in person — flirty, playful, very touchy-feely, even a little intense physically (her initiating too). We were both tipsy, but the chemistry was genuinely there. She said she didn’t want to go further that night, which I respected — she’d recently gotten out of an abusive relationship and wanted to protect herself. Totally understandable.

The next day, I sent a flirty, lighthearted message referencing the teasing from the night before. She replied a few hours later, still flirty. Then I responded. A few hours after that, she sent a message saying she was worried she’d embarrassed herself by being “overly physical.” I reassured her, said I didn’t think she embarrassed herself, and sent a warm message basically saying I had a good time, and if she wanted to hang out again — maybe do something low-key like a walk — I’d love that. No pressure.

Since then, her replies have been polite but distant. Delayed. Short. She hasn’t mentioned hanging out again or really kept the energy alive. I also (possibly too soon) offered her a lift from the station when she came back to town, and that’s gone unanswered for a couple days now.

I know I wasn’t creepy or aggressive — just kind and open. But I feel like my warmth might have overwhelmed her, and now I’m sitting here feeling stupid for showing up emotionally too soon.

She’s a month out of something heavy, and I get why she might pull back. I just wish I hadn’t leaned in so fast. I didn’t mean to pressure her — I just liked her and wanted to be chill, but clearly I gave her more energy than she was ready for.

Would love to hear from people who’ve been in either position — the person who pulled away, or the one who showed up too fully too soon.

TLDR: I think I scared her off by being emotionally available too soon — would love some perspective
