I am a married mom of 5 children. I was diagnosed with a liver disease that progresses relatively slowly, but could become worse at any time. I may need a liver transplant in the future. I had to quit drinking, so struggling to find the new me, while also patching the holes that are in the way of pursuing my masters degree.
I have been struggling mentally lately, and did seek medical help, but still not much help. My marriage is struggling. He still drinks and I feel like I am barely noticed. When he isn't drinking or working, he works very hard-as he is a journeyman lineman-, he sleeps. That is unless he has his script filled for adderall, then he is always out doing things in the garage, working on things that you can't usually do while kids are around. This makes me feel like this marriage isn't working, as well as, gives me the feelings that no one else will have time to actually love me the way I want to be loved.
I rarely go anywhere without my kids. I work one-two days a week, sometimes not even that because its on the weekends and I'll get coverage for that weekend.
So the question is, Has anyone had a diagnoses that led to struggles in their marriage and did you find a way for you to fix it or was it just over?
