Are 'traditional' older cars quicker for 'getting up and going'?

Misc Question

Random but I was thinking how quick I am in a traditional car when it comes to inserting key, putting into drive or 1st, manual handbrake down and away I go.

Why do modern cars, with the start button, then electric handbrake button (and anything else) feel longer to 'get going' in.

It was a thing in my old car that people would say they see me literally sit into the driver seat and within seconds I'm away. I feel like I am not able to do that with all the extra buttons etc. Anyone else feel this way?
