Green Key dash light

Hi, I noticed that my Mazda will start without the key being inside the vehicle. I experimented by putting the key inside the microwave in my home to ensure that the signal could not reach the car.

Providing the doors are unlocked, the car would still start. I also noticed a green key with exclamation mark is displayed in the dash.

Car is fairly new to me, this doesn't sound like expected behavior?

Could anybody confirm?
