Maitreya & Christ: A Holy Thief in the Night of Spiritual Complacency?
When Jesus warned, "I will come like a thief" (Revelation 16:15), he was speaking the same radical truth that Maitreya embodies: Awakening strikes when illusion is most comfortable. The "thief" does not announce himself to those asleep in dogma—he shatters their false security.
Maitreya, like Christ in his Second Coming, arrives unexpectedly, unrecognized by those who claim to wait for him. The priests, theologians, and self-righteous who traded living truth for dead ritual will be the last to see him—because they are too busy worshiping their own ideas of God. Just as Jesus overturned the tables of the moneychangers, Maitreya overturns the inner temples of spiritual pride.
Why a thief? Because truth steals what you cling to—your labels, your status, your precious "spiritual achievements." It leaves you naked, with only what is real. The proud will call him a fraud; the comfortable will call him a threat. But the humble—those who know they know nothing—will recognize him instantly.
Maitreya does not come to reward the "faithful" for memorizing scriptures. He comes to burn away the lie of separation—and only those who have stopped pretending will survive the fire.
