starting on medication

i’m expecting to be starting on medication hopefully in the near future. i’m a bit scared and was hoping to get some insight into what it actually feels like? how do they help you in daily life and is there any bad side effects that u can get from them? i feel like ive been struggling for so long and am so excited to finally start meds but yeah just wanted to learn some more
