My friend keeps collecting cats and now wants to adopt a sick one.

I need some outside perspective because I’m honestly at a loss.

My friend started adopting cats a few years ago, and it was fine at first. But now she’s at six cats in a very small space. They’re stressed, they fight, they overgroom to the point of having bald spots, and the whole environment feels chaotic. She insists it's going well just because the last month has been "fine," but that's after months of fights and stress among the animals.

Now, she wants to adopt a seventh cat — a sick one, because she wants to "help" it. But the reality is she doesn’t truly have the capacity to care for the cats she already has, let alone a sick one. I told her after cat #4 that this was getting out of hand and asked her where her limit was. She just brushed it off.

I tried talking to her again, expressing my concerns for the cats' wellbeing and for her own mental bandwidth, and all I got was "It's going fine now." But again — it's been a month. That doesn’t undo the stress these animals have endured for years.

Her family seems to accept it and not say anything, and another mutual friend and I are both watching this like… WTF do we even do?

Do we just let her go ahead with it? Is there a way to intervene? I dont know any more. She doesnt even got the funds because she got a money problem too.
