Some confusion about FFA servers as a new player

When I played Chivalry a decade ago, FFA was just that - a Free for All.

I’ve joined a few servers and I’ve since learned that the Duel yard servers are generally for 1v1 duels. So I’ve tried to abide by the rules of flourishing and waiting for a flourish back before battling.

BUT here’s the thing - people are absolutely annihilating me - no flourish, often from behind like 3v1. But if I do the same, I get kicked? Can someone help me out here because I don’t get it.
