Position of the saddle with respect to the handlebars

In search of a better position on my bicycle, I have realized that my saddle is at the same height as the handlebars. I have read and seen in photos that it is normal for the saddle to be a few centimeters higher. In theory I have the saddle adjusted to the length of my seat. What do you think? And if it is not an optimal position, how can I solve it?
