Rolls/bpm/ghost notes response

Hello, i was wanting some details on how low to mid grade edrums react to fast rolls. Is there a limit to how fast you can do a double bounce roll before it just turns into noise? Also curious how well it picks up light hits and not hitting to hard. Are they pretty responsive?
