Oil tank regs

We have a potential purchaser of our property asking about the position of the oil tank. It’s currently less than 1.8m from the garage, and close to a fence. The tank has been there for many years and I’m confident it was compliant with rules at the time, but keen to know when the 1.8m rule came in. Does anyone have a link or info please!?
