To be Around the Right People it just takes Time
I've inherited problems before:
Through my ancestors actions because of their minds;
But often as with inherited issues galore:
People view you as the only thing wrong they can find.
Upon my insistence I had a difference:
I was told to be silent.
When I spoke up for anyone to listen:
The bullying that followed it made me feel violent.
I waited as long as I could, for I knew it to be a mistake to yelp:
I hid myself away in a dark cave in the forest to wait for another time to be,
But the first human who gallantly showed their face to help:
They had a glint in their eye only someone with an inherited problem could see.
I waited still a longer bout for knowing that person would leave:
All I could do was promise myself that I was doing the right thing;
And suddenly a day broke when that human said somewhere else they'll be being,
And I then was introduced to what I would call the beginning of my undoing.
I've inherited problems before:
Through my ancestors actions because of their minds;
But often as with inherited issues galore:
People view you as the only thing wrong they can find.
The next human to grace my forest cave drank from the creek,
I tried yet a contaminated collective unconscious began to seep,
But inside I knew it was only a tested matter of a method of defeat:
When I was met with those ends that's when my problems truly unleashed.
When I spied this someone with a tricky wit about them,
It seemed they recoiled as they had to look through a different lense:
But they still stayed and listened intently for awhile, that is:
Until they met some of my ancestral friends.
I've inherited problems before:
Through my ancestors actions because of their minds;
But often as with inherited issues galore:
People view you as the only thing wrong they can find.
I did the best I could and I really made it through:
I tried hard, I cried, I felt defeated, and uncouth,
I pushed past, I fought, I yearned for achievement:
I knew I was stronger than those things that stopped me in my youth.
And every step along the way certain ancestors met me with dismay:
And heralded thoughts of hatred for people who were like me,
Spread whispers about me through the cracks in toxic society,
And tried their hardest to keep someone they should have respected at bay.
It was a long time I was trapped inside that person's mess:
Sometimes it felt so degenerative I felt knew I was being held back,
But everytime they brought a bane against me I was able to insist:
I knew what I was doing: I had the confidence and courage that they lacked.
I've inherited problems before:
Through my ancestors actions because of their minds;
But often as with inherited issues galore:
People view you as the only thing wrong they can find.
That person then left after what I must say was the most torment I had ever felt inside:
I accomplished what I did while they were with me only due to my own volition;
When they chided about leaving I stayed quiet until they left my eyes,
And if comes a day they return I worry my rage may blind my vision.
I began to live in the forest cave as though it were my home:
I viewed it as the only thing now protecting me from these ghouls I'd let meet my soul:
Those ghastly beings seeking out an ancestral behest they'd previously known.
But this story I would never let end in disappointment: for it is my own.
In that cave I had two more guests visit me that I am glad for:
People who felt human, would relate, care, and didn't mind being open.
When they graced that cave I hid in alone I could feel my mind was sore:
In comparison to the elation to be able to connect to beings who I felt would genuinely support me again.
I've inherited problems before:
Through my ancestors actions because of their minds;
But often as with inherited issues galore:
People view you as the only thing wrong they can find.
The first was a deer: With antlers as tall and wise as it had points to count,
But this buck instead turned out to be a doe: Unlike any I had seen before.
Like a bramble of barbed wire the animal reared it's crowned bushel about,
And I credit that deer with what I can only describe as saving from that last bout.
The second was a Robin who landed upon a branch outside the cave's entrance,
Every morning it sang to me a song of it's cherished self,
This Robin was the only thing that made me feel myself again:
That ancestral poisoned collective unconscious: This Robin was able to sing out!
Through my journey thus far,
though to call a travel-less one such feels wrong and strange:
I was met with almost everything I had ever despised of in people,
And I proudly overcame my feelings of anger that I should change.
I recognized the bad and the good in people:
Though those things are subjective to everyone just as we are all worldly.
But those with ancestral problems: I could see them choose so clearly as they were feeble:
And too often I saw them choose bad and expect not to be treated poorly.
I've inherited problems before:
Through my ancestors actions because of their minds;
But often as with inherited issues galore:
To be around the right people: It just takes time.
