Any stress-free experiences with bookkeeping in Indonesia? Trying to do it right from day one
Hey all,
I’ve been spending time in Indonesia (mostly Bali), and now that I’m thinking of staying longer, I’m looking into setting up a small business here — something simple and manageable.
The part that’s really confusing me is bookkeeping. I keep hearing different stories from other expats — some say it’s no big deal, others say they got totally overwhelmed with paperwork, reports, and inconsistent advice. I just want to keep everything straightforward and well-organized from the beginning.
So, I’m hoping to learn from people who’ve been through it:
- Anyone had a good experience with bookkeeping here?
- Did you find someone local who really understands how to set things up for foreigners?
- Are there common mistakes or oversights people make when they’re new to all this?
- Also — do you really have to file reports monthly, or is that only in certain cases?
I’d be super grateful for any insights or suggestions from folks who’ve already been down this road. I just want to avoid silly errors and stay on top of everything without losing my mind. 😅
Thanks in advance!
