Oily Cutting Board

Hey all, My wife just got me some wooden cutting boards early this week and I’ve been caring for them as I’ve read on here. Oiling with mineral oil and letting it soak in overnight. After a couple days of this the oil stopped soaking in so I know the boards are hydrated but they now feel super oily and greasy. Is that just part of wooden cutting boards, did I use too much oil, or is it something that will improve with time?
