I'm confused how I got C Diff. Was it from taking Flagyl or from a brief stint in hospital for a colonoscopy?

I've been trying to figure out how on earth I got it.

1. I took an antibiotic (Flagyl) for potential diverticulitis. Either I got it from Flagyl because antibiotic use can lead to C Diff, but I find this odd since Flagyl is used to treat C Diff in some countries.

2. I finished Flagyl the day I had a colonoscopy/gastroscopy at the hospital which I was in for just a few hours. A week later I got C Diff. If it's this, then I'm kind of surprised. It's such a quick way to get it, and I always thought everything was properly sterilised. I know about hospital-acquired infections, but figured you needed to be there for days to get it.

I'm kind of sad and annoyed about it. It makes me want to avoid hospitals forever now, even kind of makes me regret having that scope to begin with. I just wish doctors took me more seriously in the beginning when I started having symptoms..
