Is it true DeAngelo liked to strike at houses on corners? If so, why was this?

Feel like I read this somewhere, maybe on this sub. If it's true, was thinking that it'd give him several routes of escape if for some reason he needed to escape quickly. Four directions he could go street-wise from a house on the corner. Versus two with a house in the middle of a block.
