Passport still at US Embassy but fly out of UK on Monday

Sorry if this is the wrong sub but I can’t find one that fits my question.

I sent my passport to the us embassy four weeks ago to get a VISA processed, it’s still not arrived back in my town, but I’m due to fly to Portugal on Monday, is there anything I can do?

I’ve called the embassy but they’ve told me I have to wait a few more days before calling them.

TIA
