Hydrogen peroxide or vinegar for oral thrush?

Tips and Tricks

My 6-week-old has a white tongue towards the back of his throat. Doc says it’s thrush and to wipe it down 2-3x a day with cotton gauze or Q-tip dipped in hydrogen peroxide or vinegar.

Has anyone else tried to threat thrush this way?

A month ago, baby also had thrush—very white cakey tongue, but it was all over the surface, plus white patches on inner cheeks and roof of mouth. Treated with nystatin oral suspension (4x a day for 14 days!) which was a big pain but we did it. Seems to have helped but obviously not completely.

I also treated myself with apple cider vinegar wipes after every feed and coconut oil. Took two doses of Diflucan (pill) too.

I’m bummed it’s not going away!

Does thrush ever clear on its own??
