Rejected due to genuine student test (GST) Should I apply again or try a different course?

Subclass 500

Hi everyone,

I’m 32 years old from the Czech Republic. I recently applied to study in Australia through an education agent, but my application (Bachelor of business) was rejected. The reason was that I didn’t meet the Genuine Student Test (GST) criteria. The school mentioned that “the assessors were not satisfied with the student’s profile,” and I was told that my age may have been a factor in them viewing me as “non-genuine.”

This has been really discouraging. I have strong ties to Europe, including close family, and I’ve heard that sometimes explaining those connections can help show genuine intent, but I’m not sure how much weight that really holds.

I’m now unsure what to do next: Is it worth reapplying for the same or a different course at a different college? Has anyone here been in a similar situation and managed to get accepted on a second attempt? What documents or supporting information helped you prove you were a genuine student?
Any advice or shared experiences would be so helpful.

Thanks all
