Anyone been to Baylor Medicine in Houston for endometriosis? Was it worth it? Insurance questions + feeling defeated
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and experiences. I’ve been considering going to the Endometriosis Center at Baylor Medicine in Houston, TX. I called them recently and they told me they accept a long list of insurance plans but they don’t take anything from the marketplace, Ambetter, or HMOs which is what I currently have. I’m feeling really defeated.
How is it that we live with such a horrible condition and sometimes the only option is paying out of pocket, which so many of us (myself included) just can’t afford? I wanted to ask Has anyone here gone to Baylor for their endometriosis care? Was it worth it? If you have, what type of insurance did you use that they accepted?
I’m also dealing with POTS, and I’ve tried multiple birth control options to manage my endo, but every hormonal treatment I’ve tried has triggered severe POTS symptoms and has sent me to the ER. I’m desperately looking for an alternative, hopefully with a specialist who understands both conditions or can offer more individualized care.
Any advice, experiences, or suggestions would mean the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
