Is Dolibarr with MultiCompany suitable for multi-tenant invoicing, e-billing and fiscalization?
Hi everyone,
I’m a PHP developer with 20+ years of experience, currently returning to the field after a few years of break. I’m working on a project where I want to offer a SaaS platform for small businesses. The idea is to let companies:
- Register and pay for a plan (monthly, quarterly, yearly)
- Get access to their own isolated ERP space (multi-tenant)
- Create and send invoices
- Fiscalize invoices in compliance with tax law (ZKI/JIR codes)
- Send e-Invoices to state institutions and clients (XML format)
I already have a dedicated Hetzner server, know how to manage Linux hosting, and have experience with Dolibarr. I’m now evaluating whether Dolibarr, with or without the commercial MultiCompany module, can support this model securely and scalably.
Has anyone successfully implemented something like this with Dolibarr?
- How reliable is the MultiCompany module?
- Is entity isolation secure enough for client data separation?
- Can invoice modules be extended for ZKI/JIR fiscal logic?
- Is Dolibarr a good base for a SaaS product, or should I consider ERPNext / Odoo / custom build?
Any tips, examples, gotchas or guidance would be appreciated — especially from those who’ve tried to monetize Dolibarr-based services.
Thanks in advance!
