does hashimotos cause frequent and/or worse illness?

I was just diagnosed 8 months ago (august 2024) and since then I had the flu once, I have been to the hospital for a brutal stomach virus, and I feel as if I am coming down with the flu again as we speak. I also noticed since I started getting hashimotos symptoms around 2 years ago, my illnesses are always much more harsh than they used to be. is all of this normal or am I on my own here?
