# The Thunderpick World Championship (TWC) is back and delivering top-tier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports action across six regional series.

Kicking things off is the EU Series #1. Featuring 24 teams fighting for their share of the $25,000 prize pool and, more importantly, a coveted spot in the Valve-sanctioned TWC 2025 Closed Qualifier.

With so much on the line for the teams, the hype couldn’t be higher. To prep fans for what’s to come, we’re taking a closer look at the organizations competing in the EU Series.

Please note: All HLTV World Ranking data is current as of April 28, 2025. We also mention the latest Valve Regional Standings (VRS) for Europe.

# The Contenders

**BetBoom** are the highest ranking team after narrowly missing out last year and come in strong after receiving direct entry to the play-offs.

Despite a recent slump, **OG** has a strong chance of reaching the Grand Final of this event. It doesn’t hurt that they added Danish star Nico "nicoodoz" Tamjidi to the roster on April 5.

# Dark Horses & Notables

**ECSTATIC** impressed in Group B, led by TMB. **Passion UA** and **Zero Tenacity** also secured Playoffs spots with strong Group Stage performances.

**Astrum** brings solid firepower with Norwi and Patsi but with **SINNERS** and **Fire Flux** are looking to upset more established teams.

Not forgetting **Monte**, who has a history of deep runs and is definitely one to watch.

# Group Stage Highlights

Several teams showed promise but couldn’t bring it home. **Dynamo Eclot** and **Delta** were eliminated in tough matchups. **Iberian Soul** (ex-Movistar Riders) and **SABRE** **Esports** also exited early.

**RUSH B** surprised many with a Playoffs berth from Group B, while **CYBERSHOKE** and **Sashi** hope to make deeper runs after promising starts.

What do you think, who’s coming in strong? Anyone showing signs of being a World Championship winner?
