Mint around the perimeter?

I'm faced with invasive weeds surrounding my growing areas and between raised beds.

I've been told mint will take over areas and become it's own nuisance.

Would it be a deal with the devil to bring mint around the space to displace the spurge and other weeds I forgot the names of, at least mint isn't nasty.
