[Spoiler for post Act 2 story and Monoco's relationship quest] Confusion about a specific detail and name of 2 characters

In the fake prologue between act 2 and act 3 we can find in front of the fireplace in the real world manor the 2 family dogs, Noco and Monoco the third. Now I understand that the whole concept of the Gestrals resurrection is based on the death and replacement of family pets, coming back to fill the void left in the family but not being the same, but knowing what we find out doing Monoco's story, that being that Noco used to be Monoco's mentor and that he already went through resurrection probably at least twice, shouldn't their names be inverted? As in Monoco and Noco the third? This would make much more sense, imagine Noco the first being the first family dog, Monoco being the second (learning everything from Noco, hence him being his mentor) and then Noco the second replacing the first dead Noco and then the third replacing the second once again, with Monoco always being the senior at this point, but finding himself with a similar but different Noco everytime...

I know this sounds nitpicky as hell but I can't stop thinking about it, on my first playthrough I actually gaslighted myself into reading the opposite names, which I only found out was wrong when I started watching streamers reach that part.
