🚨 Seeking Advice: Booking.com Sync Issues & Regulatory Conflicts
Hi fellow hosts,
I'm dealing with a challenging situation with Booking.com and would appreciate any insights or similar experiences from the community. My Issue:
-
Calendar Sync Failure: Despite immediately rejecting a booking request through Airbnb (as the property wasn't available), Booking.com's system showed the property as available and accepted a booking. Their sync was either not working or severely delayed. A repeating issue I hear.
-
Regulatory Conflict: Booking.com's system allowed (and tried to enforce) a booking for 5 guests, despite this being against Amsterdam's short-term rental regulations - something they should be aware of, prevent from happening, and certainly not force.
-
Legal Threats: Booking.com is now pursuing legal action through a debt collection agency for "unpaid invoices" related to this invalid booking.
Key Questions:
- Has anyone experienced similar sync issues between Booking.com and Airbnb?
- How did you handle cases where Booking.com's platform settings conflicted with local regulations?
- What was your experience dealing with their debt collection process?
- Any success stories in resolving similar disputes?
I've documented everything and am prepared to defend my position, but I'm curious if others have faced similar challenges and how they resolved them. Any advice, similar experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 🙏
