Obstruction by 1B
In every game this year, I have had to argue obstruction by the 1st Baseman on a close double.
Situation:
Ball is hit to the outfield on a hard grounded of line drive, batter runner is instructed to round and then either go or return based on coach les judgemental. The 1st baseman is standing either on 1B or is attached to the inside corner of the bag, preventing the batter runner from rounding first properly. Several time the runner even trips over the 1st basemans leg.
Each and everytime I have argued obstruction I have never gotten the call with an explanation of "I didn't see it." Which to me seems impossible considering either the field ump or home plate ump has to watch the runner tou h the base. I'm going to absolutely lose it one of these games! Am I crazy?
