School nurse & CNA instructor?
Hey y'all - happy nurses week!! So I have been a school nurse at a high school for going on my 4th year now and about 2 years ago the school implemented a CNA program in association with a local community college. We have not been able to hold down and instructor for longer than one school year and need a new one for next year. After we lost the first one, I brought up me potentially filling that position - they said logistically, no - & I get it, it would be 2 hours every other day that I may be needed in the event of an emergency but I can't abandon the classroom & I can't treat in front of the students...butttt it's only for half of the school year! And clinical hours would be done outside of school (evenings, weekends). Guess I'm wondering if anyone else does or knows anyone who does both? I'm an RN, BSN & would only need to take the $375 train the trainer online course, worked in SNF/LTC for 2 years right out of college.
