Am I being racist?

So there’s a story about 30 people dining and dashing from a Mexican restaurant in northern VA. That’s pretty much all it says as far as suspects. And disclaimer: I’m a server and have been for 13 years. That being said, I made a comment that said “I wanna see what they look like.” Now I’m getting told I’m in the KKK, I’m racist, this that, everything under the sun. I literally said nothing about race or ethnicity in anything of the sort. Help me please because if that was somehow racist then I will absolutely not say that again but I said something completely innocent in my opinion.
