Tooth pain?!

Hardcore Zyner for 5 years, quit cold turkey December 2024. For the final few months of 2024 and into 2025, I suffered from TREMENDOUS tooth pain in my upper left jaw. Which is where I ALWAYS parked my Zyns. Literally never used a different section of my mouth for them. Eating was misery and drinking anything cold… HELL. In January I had a cavity up there filled, assuming that was the cause. But then the pain/sensitivity got worse. Until about April 15th, when essentially it went away overnight. 3ish weeks later there’s still no pain.

My dentist thinks it’s a root canal. But everyone I know who’s had a root canal didn’t experience a mysterious disappearance of symptoms. I have a root canal consult scheduled for 5/20, but it’s gonna cost me $400 out of pocket which I DO NOT have, so I’m waffling about canceling. I strongly believe that Zyning caused the pain, and now that I’ve been off them for 5 months, my gums have healed. Is this possible? Did anyone else experience something similar after quitting? Any rogue dentists in the chat wanna weigh in? TIA, and good luck to you all whenever you are on your quitting journey.
