Not sure what to do next
Hi, my (27f) husband (39m) and I have been trying to conceive for 9 months now. We did get pregnant 2 years ago as soon as I got off birth control but due to medical reasons we terminated at 6 weeks (I stil have a really really hard time with this situation and it affects my mental health often). A year after the termination due to other medical reasons we decided to do an egg retrieval and freeze embryos- got 7 eggs and only 1 made it to day 5 blastocyst and then frozen which was devastating as I was expecting to get way more eggs/embryos due to being 26 at the time. During that process they said my AMH was low for my age range. I had an 8.5 pmol/l (this is how they write the numbers in the U.K.). I’ve been trying to conceive naturally ever since but for some reason we haven’t been successful. My period comes like clock work, I ovulate regularly, my bbt looks great and is consistent and as we did get pregnant before so quickly I didn’t think we would have this issue at all even after being told my AMH was lower. My husband sperm analysis came back fine so I have no clue where the issue could be. It is worth noting that my periods ever since the egg retrieval have been horrendously painful and there’s some discussion from my doctors that I may now be showing signs of endometriosis but then other doctors say I don’t have it. I haven’t done a laparoscopy yet but my periods have just started to get better so I’m hoping it was just the ivf hormones making me feel in so much pain and not endo. It’s now been a year since the egg retrieval and every month I’m absolutely devastated and I start spiralling and idk how many more negative test I can handle. I know I have only been trying for 9 months and a lot of women try for so much longer but it doesn’t stop me from feeling awful about it. I did an hsg and that showed nothing abnormal. We also didn’t get the hsg increase fertility that I have seen so many people experience. Is there any advice on anything else I can try or any tests I should get done? The county I live in has no fertility clinics so I keep having to travel away to get tests done and it’s a huge strain on my mental health. I’m talking with the clinic tomorrow about maybe doing another round of egg retrieval then a transfer because I feel so not in control and I feel like if I have a plan it will help me spiral less.
