Football idiots view of the match against Halifax

A bit short today since I have a lot of work.

My takes:
A lot of the jitters that were in evidence in the last game seems to be ironed out, everyone was confident and knew their positions. Passing was pretty good too and backed up with some great footwork.

The big flaw was that there were a lot of long balls forward that were intended to find someone, usually Ward, but come in too far ahead. Crosses into the box and set piece kicks often had this as well. Just way too much hoof on it to make anything of the situation.

Mid field was incredibly strong. Think they can feel pretty good, though honestly while Halifax is finding their feet still, I don't think they should feel like they got blown out either.

Players of note:
Well, shoot. Ward did well...playing with her arm in a friggen cast. When she is patched back up and has a bit more experience, she will be deadly.

Stanton seems to be becoming the set piece kicker which Im a fan of.

Quinn continues to have excellent ball handling. It felt like they were hanging back a bit more this game and were better able to support the mid field.

Spencer is a personal favourite of ours. She goes forward quite far, we were chatting about whether she ought to be a mid fielder, but maybe she is more comfortable in the back or it helps shore up the backline.

Goalie had a chill day but she feels like she is doing a great job directing and coordinating, which is the best kind of goalies.

Honestly, I feel bad naming names because everyone put in a good shifts work, but thats who stood out. My wife was happy to see Hagman come on as well.

Your thoughts?
