Idea painting Custodian armor

Heya! I’ve picked up a couple of new Allarus to paint after not having painted Custodes in a year or so (mainly Skaven & Aeldari lately). But since painting my Custodes army I’ve improved a lot in my painting skills. So I’d like to use what I’ve learned to paint these Allarus similarly, but improved. Without spending too much time on them.

The idea that I have is starting out with a dark brown basecoat, do a heavy dry brushing with Retributor armor, followed by a lighter dry brush with a much brighter gold on the details. Basically avoiding using a shade that I feel often times dulls down the metallic shine and requires reapplying the gold on certain areas.

Has anybody else tried out a similar method or have any thoughts regarding my plan? Would appreciate some golden wisdom 😁
