LIVE or die - A Smiling Critter fanfic (prologue)

Hoppy Hopscotch’s eyes opened fast and wide as she rapidly gasped for air. Her heart was pounding. She tried to move but she was strapped to a cold table. Above her, a lamp shone down onto her. It was so bright, it was hard to see. Hoppy tilted her head and looked around. Machines beeped around her. Each seemed to connect to her via a cable. One showed a line that seemed to go up and down. One showed a screen that said “Brain Waves”. There were many more, each either turned around or the light made it to hard to see what they were doing.

As Hoppy looked around, she heard a cold, female voice. “Experiment 25387. Success. Transfer it to the cells with the other… what were they called? “Happy Lads”. Lee will be expecting her there.” She writes something on her clipboard

“But… shouldn’t we-“ another voice shakily says before being cut off by the first. “NOW, JOEY!”

Despite Joey being taller then the female, he flinches before running out of the room. “Stupid interns.” She mumbles. “Always thinking they know better.” Hoppy can barely make out the name on her name tag, but she think she can barley make out “DHEA”. “What a-“ she think before a splitting headache pierces what she assume is her skull. The “Brain Wave” monitor beeps quickly
