Struggling to configure dongle mode for my keyboard

I have been developing a keyboard for the first few months, I have two halves each with a nice_nano and a dongle that uses a nrf52840_mdk_usb_dongle.

I followed the dongle docs, and have configured the build to generate two settings_resets, one for each architecture. The processes I have followed for flashing are:
- Flash everything with settings reset, then flash the dongle, then each half with their configs
- Flash the dongle the reset then the firmware and then flash each peripheral with the settings_reset and then their firmware

I cannot get anything to pair or output on my pc.

The config works without dongle - but I want the ability to connect via usb and the battery life benefits
