Was wondering if I should upgrade old pc or start a new build.

Im a complete pc noob and I bought a pc some time ago from a friend who had built it years ago and was wondering if my parts are too outdated to even bother upgrading something like the gpu or if I should just start a new build. I only run 1080 esport titles like siege and cs on my pc but siege is getting harder and harder to run as the updates come out especially after they removed Vulcan and dx11.
