Enlisting Active Duty with ACASP
I’m planning to enlist as a 68W in the Army, and I recently came across an opportunity to take an EMT-B course and earn a national EMT certification. While researching, I found that the Army offers the ACASP route for individuals with civilian-acquired skills, including EMTs, and that it applies to active duty as well. However, my recruiter mentioned that it’s not an option for active duty. Before I point him to AR 601-210, which clearly outlines that qualified applicants can enlist with advanced rank and training benefits under ACASP—even for active duty—I just wanted to check with someone more experienced to make sure I’m not misinterpreting it.
