Electrical work with no qualifications
I have started a new job and a small part of this job is to commission lifts that have been fitted into businesses. To commission a lift you have to take a 240v feed which has been left unconnected by the lift fitter and wire it into the lift control unit.
This means I am wiring a 240v cable and signing it off in my name.
I do not have any electrical qualifications. I have worked with electronics personally for a while so I would be considered competent however I am not qualified.
Is this legal for me to wire / connect these lifts and sign them off as safe to use?
To clarify there are no plugs on these 240v cables that have been left to install just bare wire.
