Secrets of Britto and why not to buy

News

Britto in Southpark Mall is closing at the end of the month and just informed their employees. Fun fact, mall management had a meeting a few days ago with other mall store managers and said the same thing. No wonder Britto didn’t want to hire another manager after the one they had left.

Did you know: All of the sculptures are made of wood covered in resin? “Mixed media originals” are not original. The artist didn’t even touch the print and once they sell one they get another of the same thing with different paint added. For $10s of thousands of dollars? Please.

The touch of gold Disney stuff is just figurines that were broken or damaged and put back together and “touched with gold acrylic by the artist”. Again no he didn’t.

If a frame is damaged or not put together properly and has gaps in the corners? Use chalk to fill it in then sell it for $1400.

The clothing looks to have been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a very long time. It’s faded and outdated.

They are having one last going away event at the end of the month. Funny that they do an event now instead of when they were slow and could’ve used one to drum up business but were turned down because “you aren’t busy enough to warrant the artist to come out.” Isn’t that the point of an event? To drum up business? Looks like they only want business for themselves. Figures.

Sad thing is the artist has no control. His CEO and team are commercializing his brand and taking away from the meaning of his art. Sad to see the value of his art drop so low. At least in my opinion.
