Gum moves when I wiggle tooth?
I’ve been having a lot of anxiety around dental care this year. I had a crown break in October and I’ve been on a journey of getting my dental health back on track for the first time in a decade. They did X-rays in October and said bone health and teeth looked great, with some minor “watches” on some teeth. Over the next couple months a couple of those watches did turn into early cavities but I was able to go right in and get them filled within a couple days. But this has lead to a lot of anxiety and constant worry that my teeth are rotting or going to fall out. The dentist did say my mouth was dry which is a side effect of my metformin so he put me on sf 5000 plus toothpaste and biotene mouthwash. Last week I went in for my yearly exam and six month cleaning, and I told them about my worries about my teeth falling out and just over all bad dental health. They said my gums were really healthy, the new dental care routine at home is helping with my dry mouth and all of the teeth still being watched still looked healthy. They said I could rest easy that things looked healthy. But this week, I still feel like something isn’t right. My front tooth, which is one that recently got a filling feels like it has shifted and is loose. If I wiggle the tooth the whole gum line of that tooth changes color as though there is pressure changes with it moving. My husband says he doesn’t see it, and that it would have been caught during my exam… but I’m worried.
What should I do? I don’t want to waste my dentists time, or god forbid be let go for inappropriately using appointments because of anxiety… but I genuinely feel like something is not right with that tooth since the filling a month ago.
