Travel 3 weeks after surgery?

I have my leproscopic hysterectomy scheduled for July 10. I spoke to a friend of mine who had hers done last summer and she thought I'd be okay to take a short trip that I have been planning for Aug. 2-3. I live in Northern California and I would be flying up to Oregon for two days and one night to see the US Outdoor Track and Field Championships. I've been wanting to go to this for months!!! I was reading some other hysterectomy posts that were really discouraging taking a flight 3 weeks post op. I would love to hear your thoughts? I'm a healthy, athletic, 41 year old. Not sure if that matters.
