Starting to lose motivation to continue weight loss journey
I made efforts to snack less on "bad" food and move a bit more back in October, 2024. I weighed myself back in December and saw I weighed approx. 85kg (187 lbs), which I was disappointed by despite not knowing how much I weighed before my increased effort. At 164cm (5'5), this put me in obese class I. I got sick with a stomach bug or something the same month, and this really was a new beginning because it made me really aversive to food for about a week and lessened my cravings in the long run.
Now I am approx. 72kg (159 lbs). I am not following a specific diet, not tracking macros, and for a period of a few months I was not even super active. I eat at less moments (1-3 times a day), and dinner is usually the only big meal of my day. The scale shows what I am doing works but yet I am starting to lose motivation...
I honestly hoped for it to go faster than it does. Because of the whole "you can healthily lose 1kg per week", I initially hoped to be my GW of 60kg (132 lbs) around early summer. I realized a while ago that I wouldn't make this and changed it towards the end of the year, but now I am thinking I might not make that either. The idea of restricting my food intake so much for so many more months is really frustrating me. I find losing weight also quite mentally taxing for me. A good portion of what I think about during the day is about my weight loss journey. Additionally, no one that I had not mentioned my weight loss to before has commented on the fact that I look less fat, and it's starting to instill doubt whether there are any visible changes. I am also worried about potential lose skin once I've reached my GW.
I used to be so excited to reach my goal soon but now I feel so frustrated about the whole journey to get there. I am really upset with my past self for having gained so much. I weigh now what I weighed 4 or 5 years ago, and I already wanted to lose back then!
How do you guys stay motivated through all hardships that come with losing weight?
