Making a Caster - choices…? Cleric, Sorc, Wizard.
Hello one and all!
I’ll jump straight into it, I have a strange obsession with Bahamut - from my final fantasy days - and love the 5e version as well. I have made a Cold focused caster - i believe morgana evelyns version or roughly about, and enjoyed it well enough. But there just feels like something is missing.
There is the ever popular storm sorc/ tempest cleric, which I have yet to try and looks interesting although longevity seems a bit… well non existent as it seems like a class that would need long rests often. That I don’t actually mind too much.
So i have been thinking, is there a way to get the ultimate blend of both? A happy coming together of both Ice and lightning (with wet condition)? How would we go about the leveling process? What feats?
Charisma or wisdom? From my own playthroughs I feel charisma is the better choice as: Birthright hat exists +2 Mirror of loss and hags hair is an easy +3 Potent robes i believe scale off charisma
Either way, what gear could we look into using - to simplify at level 12 end game. Cold is great but i worry about my own team slipping, and making most or everyone immune i would assume takes some great choices away from gearing.
Wet and lightning is also amazing sounding but lets say i want to conserve spell slots - so ray of frost time. I have looked at the potential of actually forgoing storm sorc and picking up draconic - though stuck on lightning vs frost.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
