never built a pc before, want to switch over from console, how do I start

Hi all! My gaming friend group are now all on PC, and I am the only console player left (Xbox Series X). I've decided it's time for me to join them. I've been told that building my own is the way to go, but after looking into it further I got confused with all the various components, and the fact I have to put all this together myself (with no experience whatsoever) I don't wanna screw it up and am not sure what to do. I'm also not sure what parts are more important to put the majority of my budget into either, and what parts are good. If you guys could slide me some recommendations that would be awesome (my budget is 2200 NZD, that's 1300 USD for the Americans and 1000 pounds for the Brits). If you guys can give me any little pieces of information as to how I start this process that'd be awesome, even just a point in the right direction. Thanks
