Dukie is the new Bubbles(not sharrod,Not Johnny!)

There's something I want to address for years now but I'm getting tired of People saying Duquan is the new Sharrod or Johnny, when the show itself clearly paints Duke as being a mirroring to Bubbles. For these obvious reasons.

1. Both are good people at heart. Despite the world constantly shitting on them.

2. they are both Smart very Educated individuals and have a certain set of skills,Duke while going to school is good with computers which shows he is good at Math,and with more Confidence and the right Help,Duke could've grown up to become an engineer,a computer programmer had he not dropped of out school etc.

Bubbles is obviously smart bussiness savy and knows everything about how the streets of Baltimore work,and he is good at math too obviously if he was wasn't he wouldn't have made from all them schemes he Johnny use seasons. Has good photographic memory.

3. Duke and Bubbles are Lead characters into the show while Johnny and Sharrod are supporting characters why would the show make Duke into a new Sharrod or Johnny when They had no real role in the show except to serve as a plot device for Bubbles arc of reaching his Rock bottom and eventually becoming clean.

4. Bubbles tries to Protect sharrod from the dangers of being in the streets hustling on the corners cause he knows it will chew and ate another's soul. And sees only two possible outcomes,death or jail.In the end of season 4 and most of season 5 what is Duquan doing? Hustling on the Corners with Michael which doesn't go so well for him.

5. While i do admit Duquan and Sharrod are similar in the sense that they both ended up homeless without parents,but Like I mentioned before Duquan is a lot Smarter than Sharrod. Sharrod could barely knew how to count. And Sharrod would've been a lot worse off than Dukie was in season 4 we see Sharrod with a group of Corner boys beefing with Namond's Corner. Had Sharrod lived would've grown up to become the New version of the man in season 4 who was always robbing and beating up Bubs.

6. Duke has zero similarities to Johnny weeks at all except for being the proteges of the Junkman and Bubbles. ,Johnny and Sharrod are more similar to each other if anything as both Characters lack the smarts and the willingness to survive on their own,Johnny was lazy and wanted nothing more than just to get high 24/7 in season 3 during the Hamsterdam Hell. When Bubs tries to find Johnny and get him to leave,Johnny refused to leave and pretty much told him That being other those other junkies was heaven to him. He'd rather get high until it kills him,which ultimately literally happens to the man.

7. The Junkman. Everybody wants to keep arguing that the Junkman is supposed to be the new bubbles,NO the junkman like Sharrod and johnny is a supporting character and a plot device to Futher Push Dukie's character into his tragic. The junkman is there to be a mentor to Duquan similar to how Bubs was Sharrod mentor but the difference is that Bubbles really loved and cared for Sharrod and wanted better for him while the Junkman doesn't care about Duke at all. And is only taking him in just to make him rich to support his drug Habit.

8. The Junkman introduction and taking Duke under his wing is used to show us how Bubbles could've gotten his start,and why he took Both Sharrod and Johnny under his wing. It's possible Bubs himself could've had his own Mentor like the junk man is to Duke and explains how Bubs is so good with his scams in earlier seaaons.

9.While likely Bubs and Duke both got addicted to heroin at different ages,Circumstances they both had those who care for him, ONE KEY DIFFERENCE Michael and Prezbo both loved and cared for Dukie.

Michael was Dukie's best friend and despite the other kids constantly bullying Duke and picking on him,Michael stood tall in the very end and was kind enough to let him stay at his apartment with him and his brother bug,sadly in Michael case he had to let Duke,Because he just killed one of marlo's top soldiers and knew he would've put Duke at risk and Prebzo loved Duke and believed he could be successful and do good things it broke his heart to see Duke homeless and on drugs and knew Duke was lying about getting a GED and trying trying to scam him over 200 dollars but he gave it to him anyway.

While Bubbles had His sister,Walon and the Mike newspaper guy had influence to help him get clean,Duke as one of right has no one,but that doesn't mean its the end for him,it's possible that one day,He'll find someone like walon or evens Reginald himself to save him and help him get clean so he doesn't end up a tragedy like Sherrod and Johnny.
