Am I doing something wrong?

I finished the trials and decorated the train, but I haven’t gotten another story quest. I’ve played at least ten days since that, but nothing has happened. Is it normal for it to take this long for another story quest to start? I’m hoping my game isn’t bugged, but my iPad can be pretty slow sometimes. Do I need to do something to trigger it to start? Anyway maybe I’m just being impatient. If you have played quests past this point I would love to know if it took this long for you too.
